Catherine is a Lead Instructor for GA in Melbourne, Australia and co-founder of Smithfield Digital; specialising in digital marketing in-house consultancy and custom training.

With over 20 years digital marketing experience in Australia and the UK, Catherine has worked with hundreds of companies from big global brands to creative startups to find their direction, organise their approach and implement the right digital marketing strategies for the biggest impact.

Today she works with teams across NAB, Westfield, Kmart and Tennis Australia to consult, train and advise them on how they can use digital, social and mobile channels more effectively to achieve their digital marketing goals.

She believes in sharing everything she’s learnt along the way to support and inspire the growth of future careers and businesses.

As well as leading General Assembly’s Digital Marketing courses Catherine serves up high-energy, practical workshops throughout the year and is a regular guest speaker at industry events and meetups.

Peter Davis is a socially and digitally minded entrepreneur. In 2009, Pete founded Get Glossy, a digital agency that he grew to 20 staff working in 6 countries. He sold that business in 2016 and Pete is now CEO of Postie, a platform that improves internal and external communications by leveraging validated Instagram content into email. Pete also mentors start ups through the globally renowned accelerator program Techstars.

Shanna is a Digital Director offering more than 10 years’ experience within a wide range of digital marketing and online project roles. She knows how to deliver successful revenue-driving strategies via all online channels.

Career highlights include being a key player in launching the Christmas and Fashion campaigns via various digital and eCommerce strategies in London, plus the launch of Marks and Spencer’s first eCommerce site in the Middle East and working as the lead project manager in Dubai to launch the Amber Rewards Mobile App – a dual language (English/Arabic) loyalty app used by customers shopping online and offline across 75 of the world’s most reputable fashion and motor’s brands such as Gucci, Gap, Bloomingdale’s, Harvey Nichols, Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown.

Back in Melbourne, she’s worked as a Digital Strategist for The Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival where Shanna successfully delivered a Shop The Runway eCommerce activation pioneering the “See now, Buy now” concept as seen by Burberry and recently helped launch the new Elle Macpherson, Kayser and Fine Lines lingerie ecommerce sites plus managed clients including; Levi’s, Scanlan Theodore and Le Specs plus many more via We Are Digital as a Digital Consultant. Shanna has just launched her own eCommerce Consultancy and is currently working as the Head Of Digital for New Era Cap launching the first New Era Australian eCommerce website, a huge project for the global cap brand. “I have yet to come across such a force-to-be-reckoned-with and doubt I ever will”

Stephanie is a Digital Strategist for VICE Australia. She spends her time sifting through data in order to understand the millennial audience, optimise campaigns, and drive engagement with the VICE brand. In her past life, she was a senior digital marketer for Reactive (Accenture Interactive), and digital producer for Sneakerboy.

She’s a nerd who is always on call to answer weird SEO questions or find out what makes millennials tick (did you know that 35% of us are not 100% straight? Or that ‘spicy food challenges’ = high social engagement? Now you do).

In this session, she’ll be discussing the way that VICE approaches brands and branded content, and how to get the most out of your next campaign.
