We were thrilled to host the first event in our Careers Crash Course program – our CV Masterclass. This series of events has been designed in partnership with the Islamic Museum of Australia, and generously supported by the Inner North Community Foundation. The CV Masterclass aimed to provide attendees with the chance to hear from recruitment and HR specialists. Participants then undertook a workshop which provided them with tailored advice for each of their CVs, and ways they can improve their CV and Cover Letters.
We were very fortunate to have two exceptional guest speakers join us to share presentations on their insights and advice as recruitment and HR specialists. Guest speakers not only assisted participants during the workshop period of the event but extended their support after the event and are continuing to help participants of the workshop improve their CVs.
Our guest speakers were:
• William Gaguin, General Manager VIC/SA/TAS at Polyglot Group
• Summerah Malik, People and Performance Consultant at Red Energy
Feedback from the event was very positive, with one guest mentioning this event as being better than the career coach she invested over $1500 in, who provided her with advice that was less valuable than the support she got from this event. Another participant mentioned that events like this is what changes lives, and helps people thrive in their chosen profession.
We will continue on with more events in our Careers Crash Course program. Stay tuned, and follow us on social media (Islamic Museum of Australia and the Muslim Professionals Association) to find out more. Make sure you book in quick because our events do sell out!
