MPA End of Year Networking Evening: Unleash Your Potential – 5 Dec VIC

At MPA we are passionate about giving our members the opportunity to network and be inspired by lived experiences of other professionals. Unleash Your Potential was MPA’s 2017 end of year Networking Event which brought together professionals from across Victoria. The event was hosted by Eman Obeid and Rasheed Elachkar, and featured two incredible guest speakers – Heba Ibrahim and Craig Dent.

Heba Ibrahim spoke on behalf of the Australian Government Department of Employment about tacking youth unemployment through the government’s Youth PaTH (Prepare – Trial – Hire) Internships. The Youth PaTH Internships program prepares young people for employment through employability skills training; provides work trial opportunities via internships and facilitates potential employment outcomes for young people after the internship. Heba went through the benefits of this opportunity for both employers and young job seekers.

Craig Dent, Chief Executive Officer of State Trustees, was the keynote speaker for the evening, delivering a powerful presentation about his journey of being a high-school drop-out to becoming a profoundly successful CEO. Craig continues to be an award-winning Senior Executive who builds and leads high performing teams to deliver transformational change in large volume, complex and highly regulated environments. He is recognised for his leadership across community, corporate and government organisations.

Guests were able to interact with the speakers during the Q&A session as well as being able to meet new people through the ice breaker games and networking times throughout the evening. The event had reached capacity, with 80 people attending the evening.

Thank you to everyone who attended Unleash Your Potential. We look forward to welcoming back all our members to MPA’s 2018 line-up of events.
